To get the most out of your Monkhouse Schoolwear purchase we strongly suggest following the manufacturers guidelines which can be found on the label attached to the inside of your garment.
Ironing: For your convenience many school uniform garments are 'easy care' and do not need ironing, refer to the manufacturer's label for drying instructions to get the best finish from these items. Printed garments should be ironed inside out, avoiding ironing over the printed area.
Tumble drying: Never tumble dry a pleated garment as this can reverse the heat treated pleating process - always hang up on a suitable hanger to air dry. Refer to the manufacturers guidelines with other items.
Fabric conditioner: Many garments do not need to be washed with fabric conditioner as this can compromise the lifespan due to their protective coatings. We recommend you refer to the washing instructions for guidance.
Iron-on labels: These label will easily peel off items if they are stretchy. Only use these labels if the garment is suitable for ironing alternatively we do offer sew-in labels. It is advisable to put an additional layer between the iron and label to avoid scorching.
Velcro fastenings: Any items that use a Velcro fastening should be pressed together before washing to avoid pulling/damage to other items and to prevent the Velcro from becoming clogged with lose fibres.
